Hi Have been using the free version for a few months and recently purchased the dj2go controller which operates on the VDJ(LE). My challenge is with sound. I can get sound coming through speakers and headphone but not independently of each other hence I cannot listen to the track being cued through my headphones. I have tried most if not all configurations with the sound card (Realtek audio) to no avail. I am a bit of a novice with all of this. Would I need a new sound card to support independent sound. Assistance and feed back greatly received.

First you need to use the LE version of VirtualDJ that came bundled with the DJ2GO and not Home Free as that version doesnt support midi controllers.
If you re using a laptop then the best option is to purchase a proper USB sound card like the Numark DJio and connect there speakers and headphones.
Alternatively you need to follow this .. http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Pre-listening%20with%20headphones.html

Hi Thanks for that, I am working on a desktop on the LE version. I have bought a 7.1 sound card, a cheaper option at the moment that the DJ/IO option. I have configured the settings as instructed below on the link you gave me.
If you are using a desktop computer with a built-in 5.1 card, simply plug a pair of stereo speakers into the front speaker output and your headphones into the rear speaker output. Then choose the following in CONFIG -> Sound Setup:
Inputs: None (Or Microphone if you wish to use a mic that is plugged into the sound card's mic input socket.)
Outputs: Headphones (Master : Front output / Headphones : Rear output)
Sound card: 4.1 card -> Choose your sound card in the drop-down list.
Click Apply.
Again I am getting the same issue. Sound coming through the main speakers with deck 1 playing but no sound through headphones on cuing up next track. Both decks come through the speakers and when the headphone button is activated sound volume increases through the speakers. Again I have tried every conceivable hole and setting, no matter which it is all the same.
Thanks in advance

to add to this thread I now have two sound cards, the pc built realtek sound card and a 7.1 every setting produces sound coming through 1 output, headphones or speakers.

as always there was one hole I didn't try after systematically going through each and every setting and putting in the head phones into each and every plug I have finally managed to get sound working independently. Thanks for the advice earlier and I am one very much less frustrated bod. Can really start playing now.

Hi, I\'m trying to use vdj with a phillips az2555, Connected via USB, This part works fine & sounds great, However when I try to bring headphones into the equasion it all gets very confusing? I have the headphones plugged into the back of my PC in the Light green socket marked (front). Then I go into settings which are as follows.
OUTPUT : HEADPHONES
SOUNDCARDS : 2 CARDS
SOUND CARD : UAC3553B (I think this is my phillips usb sound system)
SECOND CARD : PRIMARY SOUND DRIVER
MASTER : FIRST CARD / HEADPHONES : SECOND CARD
Also the headphone level on the screen is turned up & the headphone mixer is in the middle, but there is no sound comming to the headphones! I think there maybe a problem with my PC's sound card as the only way I can get sound out of it, is to use my phillips usb sound system (perhaps it has a built in sound card) Can anyone help me to get sound to my headphones/PC audio port? Many thanks Pete

Hi,
I am using VDJ trial software. The quality of sound is shocking going from my laptop to DJio into my Newmark CD One mixer. Is this because I am using the free version? My laptop is new PC Win 7 64 Bit, USB3, 1.5mhz, 4GB ram. I just wanted to try it before i spent loads of cash.
Thanks

This is probably because you do not have it configured correctly and/or you have performance issues with your computer.
First, make sure you have the latest drivers for DJIO installed: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Common_Device_Drivers.html
Next, check your computer is optimised for running VirtualDJ: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Performance%20Issues.html
If you use keylock, make sure that advanced master tempo is turned on in CONFIG -> Performances
Finally, make sure that the DJIO is configured correctly: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/DJIO.html

If it turns off and resets then there is most likely a hardware problem with it, for example it's overheating due to failed cooling fan or has insufficient ventilation. Or this may be due to bad drivers or firmware. Make sure that you have the latest installed.
