Topic: corrupted hardrive error message

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Every time I turn on my VDJ, I first get an error message re something corrupted in my file that houses all my music. I hit ok, and go into VDJ, but everything seems fine....what is that about?

Back everything up NOW! I had the same thing happen a few months back and a day later my harddrive died. Lost everything on it. What hurt the most was plowing the 5000 videos. Not sure if that's what's gonna happen to you but better safe then sorry.

First, as above, perform a backup of your music collection, VirtualDJ database and any other files that are important to you. You should always be doing this on a regular basis. Please see: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/How%20do%20I%20backup%20my%20VirtualDJ%20database%20and%20settings.html

Once you have done this, go to CONFIG -> Browser, choose the drive where the music that's generating the error is located and click on CHECK then FIX. The problem may simply be a corrupted entry in your database.

Hey, sorry, but my computer savvy is a bit low.....where am I finding where it says fix?...if I'm doing the this right, when I type in config/browser it's bringing me to a section that says english, then list all sorts of errors and such. Now, I'm stuck. I don't understand what to do next

The above means click on the CONFIG button (Top-right of default skin) and then the Browser tab.
