Topic: Using a Tablet to "fire" samples

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I just bought a new laptop (not for dj'ing) and received a "free" Acer Iconia Tablet (Android operating system). My thought is to use this to fire samples as my controller (Denon DN-MC6000) is a bit cramped for clumsy fingers like mine.

Does anyone on here with more nouse than me (which will be just about everyone) know if there is something available to do this or a way to do it? I realise it could probably just be mapped using midi but that sort of thing is definitely not my strong point.

Thanks to everyone who has helped so far... Hopefully I can share some mixes soon that, I hope, will be a way of saying thanks!

You're probably best off using some "remote desktop" software that allows you to see and access your computer's screen remotely from the tablet. VDJ would be running on your main computer, and the tablet would be showing your main computer's screen and acting kind
of like a giant remote mouse to trigger the samples via wifi.

The way that people reply to requests for information and expertise is great. Thanks again.
