Topic: How to create sound effects from mp3 files

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hello,
I am using Virtual DJ on a Mac. Sound effects come under the form of 2 files with extensions .bundle and .plist respectively.
I have mp3 files that I would like tu use as "sound effects" and add them in the sound effects library.
How can I convert my mp3 files into 2 .bundle and .plist files ?
Thanks
Guillaume

You can't.

Sound effect plugins are creating in the programming language C++ and then compiled to create the .bundle plugin file (The .plist is just settings.)

MP3 is just a normal audio file and cannot be used as or converted to an effect.

However it could be loaded into the sampler though and used as one of the 12 samples.

I have an issue. I also have Virtual DJ Pro, but the list of all the downloadable effects for Mac are so much smaller than the ones for Windows. Why is this? Is there a way to get more for my Mac? I want vocal effects and such but they aren't available for Mac...

Most of the effects are user submitted and most users are using PC which is why you so more of them. I will say it is improving though, there have been more effects ported to the MAC side.

Hope that helps
Huey
