Topic: Can I get VDJ to recognize info from filename?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Last week I messed up some preferences which were set back to default (I think). So I used my database copy to copy over the original database thinking that would help. But after I did that, I noticed that all the ID3 tags were beiing read (one of the preferences I left unattended), which resulted in many songs NOT showing titles or artists in the browser panel as some songs did not have tags in both the title and artist fields, and some songs contained inaccurate tags. So I now go to the config/browser tab and disable read ID3. But I still have ALL these files that need to be retyped in the "FileInfos" artist and title spasces to get them back to the original.


My Question is: Is there way or a setting or something that I can do so I don't have to peruse thru 21,000 songs to see which ones are exactly the way they were before? Mostly ALL my songs were read in the browser as their title and artist from the file name.

Yeah, I couldn't find anything in the manual about how to get the music files to read specifically from the filename only, other than changing the info in the file info box for each individual file. Has anyone ever had to get their files' title and artist's browser info to read from the filename only?
 
Open the folder in VDJ browser and click on a track, then hit "crtl a". That should highlight all the tracks. Now right click and you should see an option to show filename or ID3 tag. Click on the read filename and it should show up now.

hey guys i need help. you see i downloaded an installed virtual dj, but i can't seem to find the file any where. what should i do, i have reinstalled in already 2 and still can't seem to fix it. any advice?
