Topic: .........Moving the "VDJ" file?......

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hey forum....Need a bit of advise with this question....Here goes.....As I have VDJ now, it is in a folder on my C: drive under

"documents."....This is where the program by default stored upon installation...... the folder contains my database, XML file, settings, etc.....I

would like to move the entire VDJ folder to an external HD with my music.......Question, will having VDJ on the external HD cause

performance/latency

issues?.......If the VDJ folder is moved to say drive F: how would VDJ know where to find the files when I load the program via desktop

icon?....In other words do I need to "point" the program to the new drive where it is being stored?.........Sry for the lengthy question....lolol

Thanks everyone =D

Why do you have to move it? Is there a reason you want to move it. Leave the program where it is, and it will find the music. I don't want my program and music on the same drive. Why make the drive work harder than it has to?

According to my experience. The shortcut file folder, and the origin of the program (VDJ) cannot be moved to a different drive to the installation. To do so the program will not work!!!!! With the music i agree but with the other not.

AMAHM....good advise....I didnt even think about the longer search and load times that moving the file could cause...Thanks for the heads up!....See you're already earning that new MOD staus!....lololol....Keep spinnin guys...... =D

You can change the VDJ home file location in the registry tool.

It was handy for me when I had a Macbook Pro with multiple partitions but beware it can screw up if not done properly.
