FYI...Media Monkey is PC only.

You already expressed your opinion once huey, I was just looking for the details about what's better with what you use,.. compared to what I use...no need to get puffed up about it...

Good Night,

Joey....

In my opinion, Media Monkey is also the best that I have found. Again, like previously posted, it's only for windows based PC's. It handles tagging much better. Talking to other devices is much easier, including remote control and sharing. Media Monkey has a seperate "Now Playing" list that you can drag and drop from. And it really shines with the scripting that you can do with it. With that said, I use iTunes primarily on my rack PC.

I do this because it supports my iProducts right out of the "box". With Media Monkey, you need to have iTunes installed or use a work around to talk to your devices. They also have to be in manual music mode. And, when you create a playlist in Media Monkey, you have to export it to the playlist folder in VDJ, for VDJ to see it. iTunes playlist shows up with no importing. I don't like that I can't just have a group of songs playing and just add in another song at any point in the now playing order. I also don't like how slow iTunes is to respond and times.

If your using windows, I recommend checking it out, http://www.mediamonkey.com/. I have chosen to use iTunes to manage my library because I don't want to make changes in one thing, and have to update it in 3+. I get annoyed enough that I have to do it in iTunes and VDJ. However, I have created a "import to VDJ" playlist that I put any tracks I modify or add, this way I am not recursing and scanning the whole collection. In the end, I use iTunes, Music Monkey, Music Brainz, id3tagger, dupguru, mp3+gtoolz, filerenamer, and a few others, depending on what I am doing with my library.
