Topic: Sampler needs to have keylock

Hi,
The next feature that Virtual DJ needs to have is keylock on the sampler. I have some vocal samples that sound like the chipmunks when it is matching a fast beat.

when using the sampler, there is no pitch conrtol whatsoever over the sample key. if you load a sample into the sampler it will only ever play at the original key and speed. there is no active pith or key controls on the sampler.

however, if you are loading samples into an empty deck then you can use the corresponding deck key lock to lock it down.

Yes, I know. VDJ should give us an option to lock the pitch of a sample if it changes tempo.

samples dont chance tempo when using the sampler, only when using the samples in an empty deck.

in which case that deck has a keylock/pitch lock anyway.

Samples do change tempo, if you want them. Check out the sampler section and right click the small circle to the right of each sample. Yo have a choice to loop, beat lock, etc...

really??????? i have no idea how i missed those. i use that to load samples too....pmsl...sorry my bad....talk about retarded .....durrrr!!!

yeah i see your point now.

I think the idea is a double edged sword. On one hand it'd be great and on the other I think it would cause problems especially if someone was using an under powered laptop.

Just a thought to keep in mind

VDJ can make it work. They have made so many improvements since I first purchased the software.
