Hi Guys & Gals, i am in the middle of copying my Vast CD collection onto my Laptop, so eventually i can use virtual DJ in a Pub i DJ in 3-4 times amonth, i have used Windows Media player to copy the original CD's, but i have hundreds of "copy" CD's i compiled myself via various sources, & of course WMP doesn't recognise the songs....is there any program that would?...this would save me having to type in every song into WMP....i have tried MusicBrainz picard which wasn't any good....any reply or ideas would be great...but i am not a TechHead so be gentle! Chris

This is a great opportunity to point out that 99% of the time, music obtained thru proper LEGAL means such as subscription services, comes with all the tag information intact. Remember: Doing things the RIGHT way the first time is ALWAYS easier than trying to go back and fix problems later on.

Thanx for that, but they won't understand my "various artists" CD's that i have made myself, for example i may have 18 songs on a CD-R all copied from different original CD's...chris

If you made your CDs as audio discs, there will be no way for any of the audio search engines to recognize each individual song on the disk. Most engines such as Amazon or iTunes look for unique features on the entire album for them to add the proper information (ex. number of tracks, track lengths, etc). If it's in data form (ex MP3) all the information will be stored to the tag already and you will simply just have to copy and paste the contents of that disc into your music folder.

I would just rip the original CDs, let Media player tag them and be done with it.
