For the past year, I have been using Virtual DJ and it has been the greatest choice as DJ I ever made! Before that time, I used everything from turntables to cdj's to 8 track tapes to cassette tapes to reel 2 reels to keyboards to 808's to mixers the size of coffee tables and anything to get my sound to be the best it could be and assure my listeners always have great music! Yet, now I use VIRTUAL DJ and my mind is blown away by the fact, I just open my laptop and all is right there for me with VDJ! Which allows me to be even more creative in what I do and not feel limited! Plus, I feel like VDJ has matched the speed of my creative flow and it comes out with relative ease!
So when I do any set at a club, party, event, radio show or whatever, my audience is 100% satisfied with my performance. Which is far more important to me than anything else! So people can cry me a river all they want about how they feel real DJ's don't use Virtual DJ, because I have a resume and the credentials that so many would kill to have as a DJ and I endorse Virtual DJ 100%! Besides most of the DJ's who down VDJ are garbage with whatever they use, which tells me that they need to shut up and get back in the lab and work on their skills as DJ instead of running their fat lips!
So THANK YOU Virtual DJ for this awesome software! As long as you keep up the great work, you have a DJ who will rock with you for life!

Couldn't agree with you more Coach!!
I've had a lot of time off this due to a new baby this past year but with the help of Chris (Cstoll), Scott, Mp3Rick, Tayla, Synth, DJDAD, Phantomdj etc,etc,etc..the list goes on. But I never really understood the power of VDJ and all it could it do. I never know a simple MIDI mixer could be so much MORE then just a mixer. I also got my first MIDI controller and was blown away!! I've tried other software but always came back to VDJ . I also agree with you about the people who knock VDJ.
So I too say BIG UPS to VDJ and the team, things are always getting better.

What did you use before VDJ? you can't of used CD, I mean your not old enough. I'm 33 and went digital in 1999, so you must be 40 plus.

Yeah man, I still used cd's and some vinyl (Which may surprise many), because I really wasn't that computer savvy. Plus I tried some DJ software back in 02 or 03 that didn't sit well with me. I finally caved because I was looking for a way to deal with less and saw the benefits of today's DJ and gave it a go with VDJ. As you can tell, never looking back! One great thing about living in NY, I can always find Vinyl here, you just have to know the spots.
By the way, I will be 40 in January.

Keep scratching that itch, this industry has its cons, but the pros are 100 times greater! I don't know too many professions, where you get to have fun, do what you love, make so many people happy, stay 99% stress free, travel, work short hours per week and get paid to do it!

Thanking everyone from staff to skin creators, effects creators, etc, all need recognition on how great job and creativity they have. Been about a month since my last post, but Ive been up and down these forums and I have learned a lot. Everything from how to mix music, how to use equipment to how to optimize my laptop to run smoother. Anyway. THANK YOU ALL

VDJ ROCKS!!!!!!!
This is the software that saved my DJ career when my van got broken into. 32 cases of records were stolen along with two sets of turntables, speakers, amps, fx racks, lights and everything else.
I could live with the equipment being stolen but the records loss devastated me and put an abrupt but temporary end to a long and fruitful DJ career.
Then I found VIRTUAL DJ.
Oh Happy Days were here again.
My laptop, hard drive full of music and replacement sound system and I was BACK IN BUSINESS with less weight, faster set up and larger music selection.
Gotta love it....

I've been DJing since I was 17 back in 1983. I'll be 45 which means I've been a DJ for longer than some members here have been alive! 28 years! I've owned Virtual DJ since it was Atomix MP3 back in I think 2001? I have owned and still own many other brands of DJ software including Serato but VDJ is my choice at 95% of my gigs. The other 5% is either guest club gigs where I'm using someone else's equipment or the club that requires me to bring my Serato SL3. They don't permit the use of VDJ. (Stupid huh!? But it's a DJ who owns the club). Also Hip Hop only clubs, I still have trouble scratching with VDJ and My Pioneer CDJ-400s and scratching with Serato is perfect.
Virtual DJ is by far the best, most comprehensive software out there! It allows me to use practically any file type for music, videos and karaoke. I am big on video mixing and feel that VDJ is the best software for that. We've come along way since my humble beginnings with 2 belt driven turntables and my old Numark mixer! The endless crates of records, then on to flipping through endless CD albums. I love that I have nearly every popular song ever recorded since the 1920's, a 150,000 karaoke song library and over 50,000 music videos and it's all on 4 hard drives that fit into a single case no bigger than a small overnight bag!! The best thing about all that? VDJ plays each and every file flawlessly!
Yes, VDJ Rocks!!!
