Hi all,
Have checked through the forums on this but cant seem to find an answer.
I have VDJ, MEP-7000 and DJM-500.
Im trying to prepare some mix demo files for my website but because the crossfader isnt mapped and set in the middle on the software I am hearing the mix being prepared on the recorded mp3 file, although it isnt audible through the speakers during "live" play. It had me fooled for a while but eventually i worked out why it was happening.....so I manually dragged it across on the laptop. So now the problem is because iv done that I cant hear the mix whatsoever through my headphones. It seems that the only way to record a properly mixed mp3 file is to map the crossfader, which i have no idea.
Any help would be great or is there another way of doing this without the mix being heard till i drag the crossfader across on the djm-5000 ?
There are no issues with the mep
Cheers

hi mate i use djm 500 and all i have mapped is crossfader.
firstly connect djm to gig machine to port where you plan to use all the time.
secondly make sure djm drivers are installed and up to date,
if so open vdj with djm connected...go to mappers and select your djm from connected hardware option.
now select crossfader/move fader and map as crossfader and thats job done.
now each time you have djm connected vdj will automatically map your crossfader.now all you have to do is select you djm as soundcard and apply at the start of gigs.

cheers staffy, im pretty sure when my macbooks connected and i fire up vdj the mixer selected on config is the mep so the crossfader option doesnt appear on the mapping tab (as the mep is connected to the djm and the mep to the laptop usb. iv had this before and if i select the djm mixer and not the mep then the mep doesnt behave properly. its configured the best way for gigs but i'll have a fiddle about for the purpose of preparing a demo mix.
is there anything online anywhere that explains the process of setting up an mep, a djm and vdj so that everything works and maps ?
cheers again, iv got 3 gigs over the weekend so i will refrain from updates and tinkering till mon morning - dont want any nasty surprises when i play the first dance later lol

that wont matter mate.you have 124 assingable buttons within vdj.you still choose mep for mapper.
when you set up the djm crossfader as crossfader it will remain mapped even after you choose mep.
connect djm and go to mappers.
select mappers and select add +.
now move crossfader on djm and map it as crossfader.
then you should be good to go.
when you select djm as your soundcard and apply it will set up automatically.
do this then there shoukd be no need for updates mate.
and 3 gigs nice....its dead here lol
