Ok, I have been having an internal debate with myself...I don't know if my next purchase should be to add a sub 2 my sound system or if I should go for lighting....
My sound setup is this Mixtrack Pro--->Yamaha EMX62 amp----> Pair of Yamaha BR 12's
The reason it is a dilemma is because I have done a few parties with these speakers and the amount of ppl has ranged from 50-150 ppl & I have recieved many compliments on the way that my system sounds....Even other Dj's compliment me on the way it sounds.....So I just feel like if it ain't broke don't fix it...I know eventually I will need 2 add a sub 2 my setup but I want 2 go with a powered setup eventually so I might wait till I get that b4 I worry about the sub... Plus if I buy the sub now then I need 2 buy a new mixer 2 power them because my emx62 only had 2 speaker outputs.
I was looking at this for lighting
http://www.amazon.com/Chauvet-Kinta-X-Lighting-System/dp/B001WMA77G
I like the different effects it has & they come out at a wide angle so I was thinking getting 2 of these for my lighting setup...I have never used lighting so any advice on this is helpful & appreciated (another thing that attracted me 2 this light is the price tag. lol)

You have answered your own question. You know you will need a sub. You want to change to a powered setup. The PA you are using right now is not designed to give the best sound for a DJ application. It would be better suited for maybe a live singer and guitar player in a coffee shop. The "mixer" is a powered mixer, i.e. that mixer has the amp built in and is designed to work with those specific speakers.
You want to spend $100 on a light effect. A light will not fix the problem of inadequate sound. All it will do is satisfy your need for a new piece of gear. Don't give in to the temptation.
My advice? Save your money. More specifically, Save $1200. If you are charging $200 to do a show right now, save half of it for the next 12 shows. Then, go out and buy 2 Mackie SRM450's. If you are lucky, you might find a package deal that includes a couple stands.
Then sell your current PA. Sell it on EBay as a complete PA. Set the reserve at $400.
Then raise your current rate to do an event by 25%. Add that 25% to the $100 you already have been saving from each event. Then add the amount you sell your current PA for to what you have saved and buy one sub. If you have any money left after buying a sub, THEN look at getting a light effect.
