My current speakers are QSK 12's and i am starting to lose interest in them. I was looking at both JBL's and EV's. Booth of them handle 1,000 watts and one is just alittle heavier than the other. I am only interested in the sound. Qsc's have better detail but that doesnt bother me. Which of the two have better low end and sound great at Full

I just bought some PRX 615M's and the 618 XLF sub. I listened to everything and the QSC's really sound great, but the PRX's were a lot lighter. I like the sound of the PRX better than the EV's though. The low end is pretty good. I've used them without the sub and they kick.

I have friend who just switched from the JBL PRX515 to the QSC KW152 He runs without subs and the QSC are much better than the JBL. I understand the JBL are a generation old and 600 series has been improved but not sure how much. The wood cabinets are heavier than the K-series plastic cabs but they seem to have a warmer sound in the midrange than my K-series speakers. I run a pair of K10 with an HPR151 sub. I have recently been wondering about moving to a pair of 3-ways like the JBL PRX635. At only 60lbs a piece I could get the bottom end of a pair of 15"subs, and the mid range clarity of a smaller speaker while lowering my total speaker weight to 120lbs instead of about 160 with my current 3- speaker setup. And it would cost less
One thing about the EV speakers is they don't have mounting points so you can't fly them from a truss which I do when I use my lighting rig.
What is it about the K12's you are not happy with?

It is really going to depend on what you hear as everyone hears different. I just bought the EV's and to me they have the best sound of anything on the market Currently. I went and listened to pretty much everything there is out there to offer at Sam Ash, GC, etc.
The EV's only weigh 54lbs (Active Cabinet). I wouldn't trade my EV115's for anything else out there. I'm sure something better will come out but for now I think the EV's rule the roost.

I currently use RCF525 tops and a RCF902 sub. These speakers are the best I've had both in weight and sound, and I've had everything from JBL, Bose, Vega, etc. The tops only weigh 38lbs. and the sub 65lbs.
