Topic: Took the plunge and got a MBP 15 i7..

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Is there any speacial tricks to get this thing to run? I'm coming over from the pc world, (what a curve) I was done with all the problems I was having. I mostly do Videos mixing so any insight well be great.

I have been using a MBP i7 since last August. It's Bootcamped with Windows 7.

I use 100% videos at my residencies from the W7 side. Never had a problem, it just works :-)

I also have VDJ installed on the Mac side as a backup. My intention is use the Mac side for non-video gigs i.e. House Music gigs, just haven't had one to do yet.

Why bother with windows ...? Doesn't the Mac play them the same or better.?
 
@soulman I'm thinking of going bootcamped as well..just need to get a copy of W7..

@madmax windows side has more plug-ins and effects for videos..it's sad to say that after spending t hat much mooney but well worth it don't know why I waited so long. Yes the mac plays them just fine if not better right out of the box with no tweaking..
