Topic: I LOVE VDJ BUT.....(MY BEEF)

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I HATE THE POPPING AND CRACKLING SOUNDS WHEN I CLONE TRACKS.

I do not have this problem!

why are people so fast to blame the software???? most problems arise because of uneducated users not knowing how to slove issues. thats like saying although you like ben and jerrys, you have a problem with it because the spoon gets cold. thats not a problem with the product its a problem with you....

That type of noise means your laptop has to be tweaked. The OS is using up alot of resources and you can easily get usb drop outs. I had the same problem back in the days when i first got windows Vista. I have a desktop for downloading all my tracks and i have the laptop just for Dj iing.

I solved my crackling and headphone delay problem by purchasing a Hercules DJ Trim 4/6 sound interface. I love the near zero latency between the music play and cue phone. My mixes are much better now.

There are no crackling noises with this unit. The extra USB ports work especially well too. Plus I can plug my microphone into it.

Well worth the money. And its nice not having to fuss with audio settings anymore.

I had lots of problems using the built in soundcard on my HP laptop for cueing, along with an ExpressCard sound interface for the mains. It was a poor arrangement.

Good luck.

Superaceman's link has a LOT of good info.....do those tweaks

Blulite is correct that it's unfair to blame the software , esp in this instance , when it's a common problem

always solved by invoking one or more tweaks to Windows ......

Caliente is correct ... the system is too tied up running other crap to handle the audio w/o

experiencing problems.....this is not a VDJ problem ..... this would happen with any other software also

i just have store bought stuff (see my youtube vid) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noFGve7Tv34

but it's tweaked for streaming media (audio/video/SMS/FireText)

i can run all those plugins and still a rip a cd and no problems

i also insist on making life easy for myself so i only purchase new systems with 6 or 8 gigs of ram , and my

next system will have 12 or more .....

FIRST OF ALL THANKS FOR ALL OF YOUR RESPONSES.
I DONT HAVE ANY DROP OUTS
I DONT HAVE LATENCY PROBLEMS

I DO HAVE:
"OVER" WHATS REQUIRED TO RUN VDJ
DPCLAT
IOBOT GAME BOOSTER
MS CONFIG(ALL NON WINDOWS DISABLE)

MY ONLY PROBLEM IS...WHEN I CLONE A TRACK THE CLONED ONE HAS CRACKLING IN IT. EVEN IF I JUST PUT THE TRACK THERE MYSELF. THE ONE I LOAD FIRST IS FINE.

Crackling is an indication of latency problems. Does this problem happen when using an internal soundcard or your Numark Virtual Vinyl? Are you using ASIO and is the performance set to Auto?

its deffinitly not a software problem or every member would have the same problem and i for one dont.

however, i did have a horrid problem a while back where i suffered really bad sound quality, after trying everything possible from new leads, new mixer different speakers etc etc, i sent my sound card back to ESI for testing and it was fine. this problem persisted for around 3-4 months and no matter what i did it would not go away.

as it happens, all it was, in the soundcard control panel hadnt set my latency to auto. i had been setting it the same as i did in VDJ and i always got really really bad sound quality.

if theres an auto button, i suggest trying it.
