Topic: Freezing while using VDJ with Denon DN-MC6000 - Page: 1

This part of topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information

I am having freezing issues and was hoping someone could help me with a fix.
I am using a new Toshiba Tecra M10 with Windows 7 64 bit, an i7 2.8 processer and 8 gig of ram, and a 500GB 7200 RPM HD.
I have configured the laptop for best performance and shut off nearly all start up items including Areo.
I have downloaded the lastest firmware from Denon v1006 and am using 7.0.4 VDJ. I am only playing audio MP3's, no video.
The freezing lasts anywhere from 3-6 seconds, the music does keep playing.
Seems to freeze the most when I am typing in the search area, but does also simply freeze when a song is playing and i am doing nothing.
I have try anywhere from 4ms all the way to 20ms on the Denon and none of the settings seem to matter.
I do not have my wireless on and am not using Netsearch,
I have a feeling there is something I need to adjust in the laptop (maybe with the video card???), any suggestions would be great.
Thanks..........

Are you using a skin that is the same resolution as your screen? Or is it being maximized?

I am using skin VirtualDJ (2 Deck) 1280x768
My desktop is at the recommended setting of 1280x800
I can say I have made a small modification to the skin, I increased the size of the font in the browser so I could read it. That's it

Does it happen without the controller?

good question, just did a short test without controller and seems to work ok.

well, I have to take that last comment back, It does still freeze even when not connected to the Denon, specifically, in the search window, when I type in the search area it seems each letter causes a short freeze, the big freeze happens if I type in a long title and then use the back space to erase to start over, when I hold down the back space, it freezes, didn't play with it long enought to see if it would freeze while just playing but, still freezing in search.

So, it's not the controller. Let me get this straight. Your screen is freezing momentarily while searching, but the audio continues to play without a problem? Does it freeze when using effects? What video card are you using?

I don't the effects effects, intel video card

yes momentary freezes audio keeps play and I don't use effects, I have an intel video card

Is this an integrated graphics card? Meaning it shares it's memory, with the system?

don't know, how would i tell and if yes is there a fix?

I looked this laptop up, and believe it has an integrated video card. I don't know if there is a fix or not. I would see if there is an updated driver, are there any tweaks to reduce the load on the video card. Any bloatware you can get rid of? I am not a computer person, so it would be better if you had someone, that knew a lot more than I do.

I forgot to ask, have you always had this problem, or did it just start?

there is a fix, you need the registry tool, and turn on the yvu bug to on. Also make sure you update the firmware on the controller.

Go here for the tool.

downloaded the tool and didn't seem to help, I am using the lastest firmware on the controller.

do you have an external hard drive you can use? for trouble shooting purposes.

have you done a clean/fix of the database?

Do you have 'netsearch' turned on?

I would not even use the controller, until the issue is fixed.

Does this just happen with the Denon Asio drivers?, try the WDM ones through the controller to see what happens.

It's definitely an issue with your PC
