I was wondering where I can find scratch samples. I have never scratched before as it never was part of my style, but would like to learn. What would be good samples to start with and where can I download them.
Thanks

start with Fresh and Ahhhhh
those are the easiest to learn with. then you can move on to wordplay and use vocal samples.
baby scratches, stab, forward scratch are probs the easiest to start with as they dont require that much fader control.although you could do a me and jump in at the deepend and go straight for the cutting and transforming and flares.
also check out DJ Shortee over at www.studioscratches.com whe has some amazing video tutorials on pootube and also on pootube, check out ellaskins dj tutor, he also has some awesone .tut vids.
hope this helps
john.
btw if you find you need any more samples ive got thousands ill gladly upload to rapdshare for you to download. that goes for everyone else too.

And remember any sound or voice can be scratched. There's no rule sayin it has to be the "Fresh" or "Ahh" sound either. I'd start with a kick or snare drum. Get creative and scratch any and everything, you'd be surprised at what sounds good.

Hey guys will Vdj 8 have visual scratch samples available? I see Mix emergency are coming up with some pretty cool stuff as of late - Transitions a like? But i'd rather prefer a stand along engine like Vdj -d(",)b- but check this out:

Unfortunately no one knows what is going to be V8 in terms of video at the moment.
Even the beta testers who might know, won't be able to disclaim that information until its officially released.

That's a qtz file that he's created so in theory if VDJ8 could use qtz files as overlays like he did in the video then the same thing would be possible with VDJ but I must remind you qtz files is a Mac only thing.........
