Hi, im willing to upgrade from the Hercules RMX to some more professional equipment. I was sure that I was going to buy the Denon MC6000 but now that the Numark NS6 came out, i'm a little bit confused on what should I choose.
So, what would you buy? and why would you buy that one?

I would go with the ns6.. Has better features and built quality than the mc 6000. Plus it comes with serato itch... If itch is not ur cup of tea then you can map to other dj software. My thing is why not go for the product that has more features and build quality plus more option of having this hardware to work most popular DVS software..

Yeah, the only thing is that the Denon MC6000 works as a stand alone mixer without the computer and is completely mapped to Virtual DJ and Traktor, while the NS6 isn't mapped at its 100%.
I would like to listen some more opinions because im going to spend some good money in this and I want to choose it correctly.
Thanks!

Ns6 has a 4 channel stand alone mixer that supports time code.... Mc6000 doesn't support timecode.
Also if u check they just release the mapper for vdj.. Traktor I'm not too sure about

Yeah i heard about the VDJ mapping but i also heard it wasnt too accurate

Isn't it a little too early to say how the mapping is? I mean how many people are even using the NS6, its been out for 3 days! All the promo videos show a Mac Book Pro with Itch, I've yet to see or hear of a windows machine powering VDJ7 with it.
The question was MC6000 vs NS6, so lets be fair and allow a newly released controller that 3 people have a few weeks to soak into the community before we compare it head-to-head with one thats been out since January.

But basing ourselves in the hardware and the functions that each piece of equipment provide, which would be better and why? I know everybody has a different opinion and some like the MC6000 and some will like the NS6, but those opinions are the one's that I want to read so I can decide on which should i buy.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Neither does the NS6 with ITCH - you can't do timecode with ITCH, plus the Inputs are straight to the LINE IN/PHONE patch of the channels and not route-able to any software. You could only use a DVS software if you used a separate soundcard to send the timecode signal to the software and the soundcard's outputs to the NS6's inputs to use it like a mixer.

We released it the day before the NS6 release - Mon 30 May 11 @ 11:21 am - here is a link - http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/13230/Numark_NS6.html -- FULLY tested and review by Numark.

hmmm,
"Virtual DJ gave me solid results too, and also offered the extra dimension of video mixing. Overall, I would say that I was much happier with the VDJ mapping," -- anonymous source

Lets start with a more simple question - do you want to change the 'footprint' of what you are currently use to? The MC6000 is about the same size of the RMX. The NS6 is considerably bigger.
If size of the unit is not the concern - then I would say that both are very viable considerations. Yes, each has it plus and minus factors. There is a lot of information out there about the MC6000 since it has been on the street longer. I would just have a bit more patience as this is the first weekend that the unit will be out - I am sure you will see many more reviews and comments after the weekend.

What I really want is to take a more professional step and get out of the bedroom but limiting myself to the budget I have, which is not more than 1000 dollars for the controller.
I have been following the MC6000 and I was really sure I was going to get that one because it was a stand alone mixer, it had booth output, microphone echo, split cue, duck, post, balanced outputs, sensitive jogwheels and its fully mapped too VDJ and Traktor.
After sometime I started hearing about the ns6 and i like some things about it, but I also dislike some things about the NS6 that I like about the MC6000 so thats where i start to get confused on what should I buy.
Im just a DJ who wants to make the big step and doesn't have a big budget, like to buy CDJ's,etc. So that is why im taking this so serious on what should I buy and I really want to make a good buy and not spend 1000 dollares and later regret and say..."damn I should have bought the other one".
Thanks and I hope you understand me

Completely understand your quandary.
But ask yourself this - what did you not list in the items about the MC6000 that the NS6 has and you need? Don't think in terms of VirtualDJ functionality - but the hardware features itself. Remember - if a control doesn't do what you want it to do - then that can be remapped to what you would like.
If you already purchased a case to hold your RMX - then the MC6000 will most likely fit in it -- no additional NEW case cost.
From purely a 'comfort' factor of what you are already use to with the size of the RMX, I would consider the improvements the MC6000 gives you over the RMX.
If one of your concerns with the RMX is that you feel cramped when reaching for particular control - then the NS6 definitely will spread out your working space.
Both are built for durability so can't say one is better than the other in that area.
Regardless of which one you get - once you get to touch the other, you are going to say at least once; that you wished you got the other - because of 1 thing. But that is where the beauty of VirtualDJ comes in with the VDJscripting. If you find out a particular function exists on one you and you wish you had it - then it can be incorporated into what you have purchased.
Both are supported by VirtualDJ. Both support more than just the standard 2 decks and are mapped for up-to 4 decks right out of the box.
If you can get to a Guitar Center or other outlet in your area and play with them (at least touch them) I would start there first.
Sorry I can't give you definitive recommendations to consider, but hopefully you find something useful from above.

I am really glad you came up with all this and gave me a real opinion, I think that what you said is very important and im going to think it well. Thank you so much for helping and because of people like you, that always help the one's that are kinda lost in some aspects of djing, is why I always go back to this forum and solve my doubts here!

Well I thought everyone knew itch doesn't offer timecode.... I was referring to other Dvs system such as SSL, traktor or vdj.
Mc6000 doesn't offer this

You still missed the point, NS6 gives you no advantage over the MC6000 when it comes to working with a DVS setup. The ability to support a DVS are equal between the two units.

I preffer the Ns6 over the Denon because of its size and the feel of the Jogs. The denons jogs feel akward. The denons buttons are too cramped up while the Numark is nicely spaced out. The Denons sound quality is really good also. I like to mix fast and i want to be able to get really comfortable while i am scratching, blending, looping etc live. I was able to mess around with the pioneer DDJ decks both Traktor and Itch and The Numark NS6 is the Winner. I was sold buy the feel and responce. The sound is excellent. The only bad about the ns6 is that it uses more resources.

I like the MC6000 over the NS6 simply because I own the 6000 and not the NS6. Numark has done a great job of creating alot of hype about the NS6 and it does look like a awesome controller but I like the 6000 enough to not even worry about what I may be missing out on with any other controller.

@Jam Master Rob , is there anything that you don't like about the MC6000?
Posted Sat 04 Jun 11 @ 10:01 am
No, I can't say there is anything I don't like about it. It would have been cool to have the platters motorized though.

This is the best advice you can get, period. Everything else is just opinions, what works for those people. We can not tell you what will work for you. Make a list of the pros and cons for you, not what works or does not work for others. You are making this decision harder than it needs to be. There may only be one thing that sets one apart from the other. Only you will be able to see that. Seize it, and don't look back.

I just called Guitar Center and Sam Ash and they told me they didn't have any Numark NS6 or MC6000 that I could play around with, and they had to open a new one but they can't because of the serial.
But anyways I think im going for the Denon MC6000, thanks a lot to everyone that helped me and gave me their opinion!
