Topic: New Rig - Thoughts?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Guys, here is my new rig setup that I'm getting ready to purchase. I just got the quote back today and getting ready to order tomorrow hopefully!!!

2- EV Live X 18" Subs (Active)
2- EV Live X ELX115P (Active)
1 - Behringer XENYX X1832 Mixer (Not a Behringer fan but this mixer is pretty awesome. Price point untouched)
2 - Odyssey Flight Zone Glide style cases (One for Hercules RMX and one for Behringer Mixer)
2- Novation Dicers
2- EV ASP1 Sub Poles

If you have not heard the EV Live series you need to go hear them. I heard them last week and they are FREAKING AMAZING!!! They simply blow the QSC K series out of the water. The 12's are a little harsh when around 97-98 DB but the 15's at 105-110DB PERFECT! I'm telling you if you have not heard these new speakers from EV, go somewhere and hear them!

Anyway, any thoughts on the setup?

Nice set up. Upload a pic when you set it all up on your next gig.

Oh trust me I will!! I cannot wait.

I really gotta go hear these speakers. I was sold on the Qsc's but everyone keeps talking about these things.

Do you really need the Behringer XENYX X1832 mixer? bit hardcore for karaoke isn't it.

Also I nearly bought the EV rig, the passive version with the coil in the subs instead of the crossover but was scared of the unknown not ever having a sub like that before so bought active RCF's and am happy.

I do not do any Karaoke as of now. I am getting the Xenyx because I like to have a lot of stuff hooked up and better control over them. Having multiple microphones for guest speaker(s), ipad connection, and backup computer without having to worry about space. I had the Alesis Firewire 8 mixer but just got rid of it. I also do mixing and house sound for Church and can use this little monster to record into my mac and separate vocals and band to remix later.

Also Charlie I thought about the passive speakers but really wanted to EV amps to go with them but the amp alone is crazy priced, so I went with Active. The EV amps are awesome, clean, and powerful.

@ djbojett - Yes you need to go and hear these things. I'm telling you they make you just melt.

I have an inline mixer that I use in conjunction with the RMX it's called a Studiomaster C3X, maybe you could find something like that and save your back.
