I am trying to play AAC or AC3 audio files on Numark Cue 5.2 version but get an error. I have included these file extensions under CODECS and have used Quicktime audio player as decoder. Is there something I can do to play these files or these files cannot be played on VDJ/Numark cue. Please help. Thanks in advance

Itunes uses the AAC codec, and I have always been able to play them..
does the extension of the file actually say .aac ? or does it say something else?
Where are you getting the files from?

These were originally 2 channel MP3 files that I tried to make 6 channel 320 KBPs files using the SUPER (eRightsoft) software. The only way possible was to convert them into AAC or AC3 files. So yes the extension of these files does say AAC or AC3.

Cue v5.2 is a very old version.
Please try with the latest Cue v7 which you can download from http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html

Why? What was wrong with the original mp3's?

Hello All:
Im sure this has been posted a million times but i'm new to the forum and not so tech savy so bear with me. I Dj using VDJ Home Edition and I have tons of Itunes AAC and Itunes Protected AAC songs(files). They will not play on VDJ home edition. Is there a way to get them to play on it?
I've read other people talking about downloading codecs. I have no idea what the heck that is or if it can help me. Can someone help?

Sorry, music downloaded from iTunes that is protected by Apple's DRM (.m4p) cannot be played in VirtualDJ and most other audio applications. These protected files can only be played on authorised Apple software/hardware, such as iTunes. iPod's, iPhones, etc.
If you are using iTunes as your music source, please ensure that you purchase music that is not DRM protected (Most new iTunes purchases are no-longer DRM protected.)
Older DRM protected tracks can be upgraded to non-DRM via iTunes for a small fee per track.
