Topic: Changing the bpm of a song: mid song

hey is there a good way to change the bpm of a song thats playing to sound good? whenever you just use the slider it sounds like crap.

Is your key-lock on? I can change BPM from top to bottom of the pitch slider (standard way of manually shifting the BPM) with no problems.
 
Usually if I want to change the BPM during a tune i try to do so during a break, with only vocals etc, no beats. Limits the amount of change to the tune playing.
 
Look for a lull in the beat or a change of vocals or instrumentation. This has been always a fool proof methodology to either raise or lower the BPM's. If you need to drop or raise the BPM too much choose another song. Every single record/CD has this and it is also a good segue point or transition depending upon where you want to place your mix.
