Hi guys im using a mixdeck. I'm thinking of getting a virtual dj pro basic to access more effects. is the pro basic compatible with the mixdeck? i checked under the comparism chart and i saw there wasn't a hardware support.

would like to confirm this.

Please advise!

Sorry, VirtualDJ Pro Basic does not support MIDI controllers. It is for mixing using your mouse and keyboard only as clearly stated on its product purchase page http://www.virtualdj.com/products/basic.html and the product comparison page http://www.virtualdj.com/products/comparison.html

To use external controllers, you will need to upgrade to the full VirtualDJ Professional. Your MixDeck VirtualDJ LE entitles you to a significant discount off upgrading to VirtualDJ Professional. To receive this, please go to http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html

I was watching a video that reviewed the Mixdeck with VDJ. The video shows that the Hot Cues will not work with VDJ if you are using the Mixdeck. This video was made in Jan. of 2011. I am not sure if there have been software updates or not but I am about to purchase a Mixdeck and I dont want to get it if I can only use the Hot Cues for the USB Drive/CD decks and not with the VDJ software. Is there an updated software that will allow me to use Hot Cues with VDJ software?

I think it is VDJ that makes the scratching on the mideck real slow. When the Mixdeck stands alone without VDJ the scratching is extremely responsive.
