Topic: 2 Huge Issues, please help

Last night, running my MacBook 17 i7 with a Denon 4500 controller (acting as the sound card), twice songs slowed down and went off beat for no reason whatsoever. Do I need to change the latency settings?

Also, 20 minute mixes wont load completely on the wave form. When the track got to the point the waveform stopped loading, the song stopped playing. What should I do?
