Topic: Solid State Drives and Mix Emergency

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I am listening to a bunch of DJ's talk last night at a bar and someone says that they have put a solid state drive into a mac book pro and that it runs cooler and much faster now. Is this possible? Isn't the processor what makes the heat in the laptop? I could be wrong because i am a biologist not an IT guy by trade.

They also had a discussion about mix emergency. It sounds like something that makes Serato able to do what virtual DJ already does. Go figure!

thanks

I had a 7200 Rpm western digital Scorpian Black on my Macbook pro and now i have a Sold State Hd. The Solid state is alittle faster. The Mac does get hot but, thats Normal. You can install SMC fan control and raise the fans Rpm speed slightly higher to 2,000 rpm
