i am a noobe at all this deejaying stuff but i've recently just picked up a new Hercules EMX controller..i am running it with my macbook and im having trouble with the sound issue.
i have my desk speakers as well as headphones.
how do i have the mix sound coming from my speakers while i have my headphones plugged in so i can hear the cue song playing so i can beat match.??
the setup seems a little complicated but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure you have the Hercules DJ Console Rmx ?
Your profile info says that you have a Numark Mixtrack Pro?

Make sure that you have plugged a pair of powered stereo speakers into the master outputs on the back of the console and your headphones into the headphone socket of the console.
Alternatively, connect a suitable cable (2x RCA to 3.5" headphone jack) from the master output of the console to the line input of your computer. The sound will then come out through the computer's speakers (If not, go to your sound card's mixer/control panel and ensure that the line input is not muted and the volume is set to an appropriate level.)
NOTE: VirtualDJ LE/Console Edition is free limited software and does not support outputting sound directly through your computer's own built-in sound card with headphone pre-listening. It is designed to work with the sound card in the console only. For more flexible sound configuration options and much, much more, you will need to upgrade to the full VirtualDJ Pro at a discount: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html

If you have the full version, you should also enter your serial number, which would allow you to download
- the latest update
- skins and tools to help you use your your controller to it's full potential. For example:

http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/4554/Hercules_RMX___Steel.html
http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/12184/Hercules_Dj_Console_RMX.html
http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/8336/Hercules_Mapper_Pack.html
As for the LEDs, only the buttons that lit up when connecting the console have them. This is not the case of the KILLs and FX buttons.

I use to have the same problem, what you do it go into virtual Dj config settings:
Where the output make sure you select speakers and headphones, then press ok, and you should now hear the music in the headphones, and you can adjust the cue/mix and volume with the rmx knob at the top left...
Hope this helps!
