Reaching out for some quick help here as we are about to make a purchase and could really use the insight and guidance.
**PC:
Intel® Core™ 2 or AMD Athlon™ X2
1280x1024 resolution
Multi-channel DirectX compatible soundcard (with inputs and outputs), recommended: Audio8DJ soundcard
1024MB RAM***
200MB free space on the internal hard drive with a 7200rpm drive speed
PSU is above 600w and has at least 2 12 volt rails
*** Suggest double to 2 GB of RAM
*** Suggest a 1TB (terabyte) external drive 7200rpm drive speed, which is both Mac or PC compatible for video/audio storage.
Additional requirements for Video mixing:
2048MB (2GB) RAM
ATI™ HD4850 (recommended) or NVIDIA® video card w/256MB of Dedicated DDR3 RAM
Video card must support dual-screen output
**MIXER:
Hercules DJ Console 4-MX DJ Controller: Comes with VDJ LE6, any idea of how much the out-of-the-box upgrade to Version 7 is?
How important is the soundcard on board the actual tower or PC if we are using the above mixer to process the sound?
Does anyone have a personal configuration that works flawlessly for you? Laptop vs. desktop?

Well, i recomend you a DJ pult befor you send your audio to the speaker system. so that you are able to conect other labtops or mp3 players. maby other djs came up to you and come with their own equipment.
For Video Mix i would update to 2gb ram... To get more performance try "Windows 7 embedded standart" it boots up with only 500mb of RAM usage and VDJ runns verry wel on it!
HDD: 1 TB schould be enough but if you send some $ more you'll get 2 TB.
