Topic: Denon dn-s1200 & Denon X900 mixer VDJ?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I saw somewhere in the forum that you can plug 2 denon dn-s1200 with virtual dj... but my question is... can i use my denon x900 mixers to mix or do i need a midi mixer? And if i want to use my denon x900 mixer do i need another piece of hardware??? thanx for your help!

Your current setup is just fine, all your gear is compatible. The DN-S1200's have built-in sound cards, so you don't need anything else. Plug the S1200's to your computer with USB-cables and plug then plug the S1200's to the mixer using RCA- or S/PDIF-cables.

However, you'll need to purchase Virtual DJ Pro full license to be able to use external controllers.
 

You only need a MIDI capable mixer if you wish to be able to video crossfade using the mixer's crossfader.

NOTE: The Denon X900 and X500 mixers both support video crossfading when used with a controller that supports the X-Control link, such as Denon DN-HC4500 or DN-HC5000. The DN-S1200 does not support X-control link.
