Topic: Native Instruments Kontrol S4 Mapping?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

So after looking and looking and looking ive been unable to answer my query.

I have the S4 Kontroller and yes i love it and i love the s4 software, but..... my heart still lies with VDJ for my mobile stuff.
So on that basis i really want to use the S4 with VDJ.

I know it can be mapped but im useless with that stuff so does anyone out there have a mapping for this control?

Thanks in advance

I don't think there are any mappings currently out there, but you can try making one yourself. VDJ script is very intuitive, and you can probably code most of it using the Learn button. I'm no programmer but I picked up vdjscript in only a few days. To start you can probably code most of the buttons by just typing in the function they will do (Play, loop, cue, sync). As soon as you start typing, you will see a list of commands and what each one of them does, so it basically tells you how to program it. For more advanced code like having the jogs pitchbend when you touch them on the side and scratch when you touch them on the top, or toggling different modes , you can look it up in the vdjscript wiki, it's really useful. If you have any specific questions on how to map something, you can always ask me. I don't have an s4 but I'll try to write something that works for you.
