Well guys, it's official.

Today I picked up a MacBook pro 13"

dual core i7
4 gigs ram

Congrats!

Thanx cwfluke, and all the rest who helped me in this process.

You guys rock and were very helpful on this.

As I've stated b4 (maybe not in this thread/forum but somewhere I did) I wasn't running to Mac just cuz my PC was giving me problems.

I actually had a very stable PC laptop and had it running very smoothly. Everything was working on it. Yes, I would still get clips and hiccups on the music but very very little, like I could hear 4 in a 3 hour of continuous music. In fact, my wife can't even hear them, so I'm thinking the regular 'Joe' at a party would probably not hear it either. But guys, that is one of my pet peeves, I don't want to hear any clips or stuttering or hesitation on music that is being played loud by a "professional" so, if I hear it on my system it really does give me a pain on my neck, like literary.

Anyways, after having connected my Hercules Rmx to my MacBook and to my QSC-K12's I am stunned!

First off, no hum. None of that ridiculous white noise coming from the speakers, something that even though I had been able to reduce on the PC was never able to completely get rid of. So I have my volume set high and the speaker is just there not humming, you can only hear the fan going.

Now when I pressed play and heard the music, I could really feel the difference.

So, yeah, I'll happily trade pluggins and effects for better sound quality any day.

Also, I was able to play music for about 6 hours on just the battery.

Well, now I'm only down to what I think it's one drawback, I can't seem to make the buttons of my Hercules (1-6) stay with the effects I set such as beatgrid, loop_in/_out, flanger etc. But I've asked that question on the Hercules forum, so hopefully someone there can help me.

Again guys thank you so much.

oh PS. I went for the 13" cuz the 15" is too big for my taste. If I was gonna keep it home than yeah I'd get the 15.

Macs are Amazing I WILL NEVER USE A PC AGAIN. Ive had no issues with anyone on it either. and the new macs come with thunderbolt :-)

what's thunderbolt?

Thunderbolt is light-peak, which is an Intel interface for connecting external devices (like USB and Firewire) that is based around PCI Express and has excellent bandwidth. It's still in it's infancy at the moment.

Plenty of reading on wikipedia:
