Topic: When playing videos, having crash issues, please help!

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

While playing .mp3 files and using the sonique plugin, I have no problems. When I load videos and start playing them, my I see that my RAM is being overloaded and eventually the videos begin to skip. Here's what I'm running:

Acer Notebook
OS: Win7 Home Prem.
Processor: Intel i5 480m
GPU: AMD Radeon 6550M 1GB
RAM: 4GB DDR3

Not sure why this is all happening, there is nothing else but Virtual DJ running on the laptop. Has someone encountered this issue? Maybe there's something within the settings that I'm able to change?

Also, this only happens when I enable the hardware acceleration. But without it enabled I'm unable to run any of the plugins.

Thanks in advance for helping out!!!

Maybe a certain Sonique causes these issues. Try to spot which one of them is responsible for this, and remove it from the folder.

The mp3s are running great using sonique. It is only when I try to play music videos. My ram starts to climb from 1gb to 4gb in about a minute and the system crashes.

It's true that Sonique visualizations are resources eaters. I dont use them at all.
Try to avoid playing videos with Sonique activated. Do you need Sonique activated when playing videos?
I suggest, goto Config->Videos and check the .. Use this plugin for audio-only files .. and select the Sonique Plugin from the drop down menu.

I have turned sonique off completely. Anytime I try to play any music video, my ram gets maxed out within 2 minutes and everything starts to skip or stop working.

I was having a similar issue. I did two things that seemed to help. One, I NEVER have anything but VDJ running. Even Google Chrome seemed to cause an issue. And two, I reinstalled the software, and ran the database fixes.

Since then, I seem to be running ok, even with the few Sonique effects that appear to be working ok.

I reinstalled the software and virtual DJ is the only program that I am running. I am able to mix videos ONLY when I uncheck the hardware acceleration box, but then I am unable to use any effects.
