Topic: Using the sync button... your thoughts

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi all,

My lil bro has got into dj'n and I've been helping him along the way for the past few years. He's finally bought himself the denon mc6000 which I must say is a nice piece of kit.

I've been watching him play along mixing etc.... and he's been using the sync button all the time! I told him to practice using the pitch bend using the jog dials. He's says: why? when i can just press this button and its all sorted. hmmm... i told him he can remap the sync button to clone deck as a good alternative and he's thinking why get rid of the best feature "sync".

What are your thoughts guys? I personally never use the sync button and it seems to give me a lot of gried if I accidently press it on the skin blah blah.

When I use controllers I use the sync button only because the pitch sliders are usually ultra sensitive. Now when using turntables or cdj's ill use the pitch on them.

Its a different time for dj's

Guys, this one is more interesting. Close the other one. Leave this one open! We have visual, audio, and writing in this one. lol

haha in that case, my thing is, if you wanna learn the right way/ the way ppl djed back then, dont use it.

on the other hand, if your lazy or IF YOUR CONFIDENT that you can do more to the music by spending less time on beatmatching and more on tricks, then go for it.
