Hi
Hope someone can help, and hope that it is just me.
All my mp3 files have their gain set so all volume levels are the same.
I have downloaded a few tracks into vdjcache, and the volume levels are all different.
can the gain be set for the vdjcache files?

don't think so, but you can check auto gain matching under settings and it should match the gain of a song to the one currently playing when you load it

When you load the song on a deck, the gain will be adjusted automatically as part of the song analysis by VirtualDJ (Unless you have disabled this in the options.)
3rd party tools such as MP3Gain cannot be used on vjdcache files because these are encrypted and DRM protected.

I have tried the auto gain settings, but this does not reliabily set the gain to match, all my mp3 have same volume level and are fine.
So it would seem then that it is not possible to set the volume externally due to drm,
OK not a big problem, i'll have to just monitor these when they are played.

Providing that you have set the gain in CONFIG -> Options to Auto + Remember, then it will remember any adjustment that you make using the gain knob for the next time that you play the song.

Yes, that is how I have it set, It was just that in a recent gig, i downloaded a track and the volume level was way to high and startled the dancers and me, a quick rush to the gain knob sorted it. So I am not doing that again, and will only play tracks that i have either set for mp3 or manually adjusted if vdjcache files.
