ok i have three external hs and music on internal hd.if i want to keep copies of xml files can i just change the name of xml to say xml then video....xml...karaoke ect or will this erase my up to dates xmlk thanks

You can only have one database per external drive, which must be called VirtualDJ Local Database v6.xml
If you rename the database to anything else, VirtualDJ will no-longer find it and you will lose all song information (Comments, BPM, etc.) on that drive as a result.
The same also applies to the main database in My Documents\VirtualDJ.
You can of course make copies of the database for backup purposes, and we strongly recommend that you do this on a regular basis if the information contained in it is important to you. You should also backup your music collection regularly if you do not already do so.

as i thought jp thank you...always have copies (learned the hard way lost all the work)..
just thinking it would have been nice and easy to know which xml was which ie video karaoke ect....
for some reason i have 3 or 4 xmls in my document and afraid to delete them as upgrading and copying from new versions ect

The others will be from previous versions of VirtualDJ that used an older database format, e.g: v5
These are not used by the latest version, but if you ran an older version such as v5.2.1 it would use its older database (New information you have added in v6 and v7 will be missing.)
