a case, a power lead, a maya 44 pcie card or julia pcie. a keyboard and mouse.
oh and some ram (about 16gig) would be nice so would bluetooth and an IR and fm reciever for use with remote controls iphones etc...
oh oh oh ............a harddrive and OS.
you dont even really need a case you could build a fishtank pc with mineral oil to keep it mega cool. it would look great churning away with a uv light inside at a gig.
edit:
graphics card or 2 would be usefull too rather than rely on the onboard.

Once you buy this case, you will not even look at another case http://www.frozencpu.com/products/6009/cst-544/PC_Design_Lab_Qmicra_v2_Rev_F_Micro-ATX_Liquid_Cool-able_Case_QV2F.html
The new version F, is the latest. I built 2 of these, One for me and one for my best friend. I have 5 hard drives, and am thinking about getting rid of the DVD drive, then I will have six.
Blulite, he has a graphics card. The first item he mentioned.

i really beg to differ on that my friend. it looks like a deathstar's turd. or darth vaders other mask.
not only is it horrid, its 250 bucks and out of stock. ive seen better cases for a lot less.
personal preference obv, but thats deffo not my style.
plus it dont have usb 3 support. which is going to be a major factor in any setup at the moment.

have a huge range of cases and theyre well priced for the spec too.

That is a nice case. I should have mentioned I am going with rack mount case.
Ram is a given, DDR3 1600 and over clocking is a must.
hard drive, 1 - 80Gb SSD and 2 - WD 300Gb 10,000 RPM.
My biggest dilemma is the mother board and the sound card.
Thanks

for a motherboard you want it future proof so try and get one with e-sata and usb 3.0 support maybe fire wire if possible. with e-sata the data transfer rate is by far supreme to any usb. iw would give you that piece of mind for using external hdds without any chance of lag.
soundcards,
esi maya 44 pci-e
or
esi julia pci-e
soundcards,

drclean, glad you liked the case. It's a quality case built in the US, by a small company. You get what you pay for. I looked into rack mounts, but they do not transition well to the desk, when I had to add content. They are quite large, and if you put it in a rack case, they did not fit into some of the skimpy booths I had to work in. Glad to see another builder on the forums. Check out some of the mods of this case. I have had good results with ASUS motherboards. Good luck with your build, and show us the finished product.

I do like that case AMaHM, I also have an ASUS Rampage Gene II and I love it, and I know that they also came out with the III.

I was trying to decide between GigaByte and ASUS. My last 2 builds were GigaByte and I had very few problems but still it was a few problems. So thank you for help, I am going to buy ASUS, although I won't use the Rampage it is a very NICE mobo. I will actually use it's AMD version.
Now an additional question. Do you guys use projectors? If so what kind?
Thanks
