It doesn't say in the specs so that leaves me wondering... Win 7 Home or higher? 32-bit or 64-bit? What is the recommendation?
Yes I am starting the process of pricing a backup/new laptop as my current Inspiron e1705 is 4 years old! My e1705 was just over $2,000 which I believe might have been overkill.

There are different versions of Windows 7, which one are you using and is it stable?
Posted Tue 25 Jan 11 @ 5:45 pm
im using w7 starter and its more stable than my xp and vista boxes.
ive never had a problem at all with 7 starter. theres a few features missing lik cant change desktop background and theres no aero etc.
never once yet had a problem with running cdj.
i expect higher spec laptops and uprated w7 versions would be just as good or better.

Wasn't there some sort of compatibility issues with hardware drivers with Win 7 64-bit?
Posted Wed 26 Jan 11 @ 2:13 pm
it's not a problem any more there are many 64bit audio drivers now

The Best OS for Audio is XP. Its 99 % compatables with all drivers. It gives you the lowest Latency which is very important for DJ software.

I am hoping my current laptop lasts another year..it is already 4 years old (XP Pro)! I'm not having any issues with VDJ with it but I thought I might as well price out a backup/new laptop so when this one dies I won't miss a beat.
