Topic: 'in-time' cue and play

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi

I know that Traktor has something similar, but I don't know whats it called exactly. What I mean is, has Virtual DJ such a feature that puts your slightly off 'cue' or 'play' aligned to beatgrid? So if I hit 'cue' or 'play' a millisecond earlier or later the software itself puts it on the right spot. Not an essential feature, but still a good thing to have. :)

If this is important, I'm using CDJ-350's to control the software (HID).

Thanks.

yes vdj has this feature and is called smart play

not thai im aware of, you could just hit the sync button. however even sync buttons dont work sometimes as a beat can be a half out on one song than the other.

but yeah the sync will line you up nice. i dont think theres an auto sync.

just dont use sync at all and learn to use the pitch control and platter to nudge your tracks in.

There is a feature, and it is implemented in some midi mappings too.

But as with Traktor (I have all 3 major softwares), if the beat marker/ grid is out then it will only spell disaster.

You could cue up (through the headphones) using a loop, nice and early. Then when you bring the next tune in, exit the loop so it will play on.

Just an idea that may be a bit safer than relying on the gridding system.

now i never knew that feature existed.

It's essentially sync+play.

Thanks.
