thanks man, ill take a look, im curious though, if they are cheaper at other retailers abroad then what would be the score with importing? would we have to pay import tax etc.?

I looked into this before when the Numark iCDX were popular. By the time you pay the import duties (unless your seller marks it as a gift) and get a power convertor (220v to 110v) you generally only end up saving a few pounds (I think it was around 5%). Personally I think it would be better to just buy them from the UK and avoid any possible future warranty issues, you'll also get it shipped a lot quicker!

Here's a link to the Google Shopping results: http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=cdj700&&tbs=p_ord:p,price:1,ppr_min:200,ppr_max:800&tbm=shop

yeah i had a feeling that might be the case. thanks for the link.

I was messing around with the Gemini deck and the jog wheel feels heavy. Its kind of dumb that they have the knob to adjust the settings from very stiff to stiff. You have to put alittle effort moving the jog to scratch. I told gemini and they kept quiet because they knew i was right. If you want a affordable deck that is accurate. Check out the Reloop RMP-3 Alpha

I have to agree with Caliente, the reloop RMP-3 is an affordable quality unit that gives digital DJs the features that we need, hopefully Gemini fixes the jog wheel feel before final production, I'm tempted in giving them a try to compare them against my Pioneer CDJ850s

I also can't remember a day in my life that Gemini was hot, it's was always budget gear but I'm always willing to be proven wrong.

@blulite,

I have checked on the price again and HTFR had made a mistake on the website, they have now changed it and have them listed as £10049 a pair with 20 free CDs and £529 single with 20 free CDs.

So not a bad deal really if they are any good, I could not wait though with the date slipping all the time so got the pioneer 850's.

yeah thats not a bad price i suppose, and yes shipping times are annoying. i hate waiting for things

@Caliente123, did they have the CDMP-7000 there? If so did it have the same feel??

Thanks for the time
Huey

i think that the most people here care about the midi part of this unit and not about the functionality of it as a cd player.

i suppose that in namm and musikmesse it was used with vdj.

has anybody gone and tested how it responds with vdj?

about the heavy jog issue...i think that it is something that will be fixed, and in the end...with 499$ you can't wait to get the best product...

Well in the latest VDJ update 7.0.5 the CDMP-7000 is natively mapped so someone here at Atomix has had to of had there hands on it.........I but of resident Hardware expert, Cstoll could chime in. He wouldn't have to give details about the unit but how well it worked with VDJ........

Whats good Huey. I didnt see the CDmp 7000 at the expo but the jogs are the same as the CDJ 700
