ok first off, happy new year to everyone

secondly i just noticed i was last logged in on christmas eve..........when i was very very drunk........ive searched my user name and found zero posts from then so im hoping i never posted any drunken crud or offended anyone....appologies if i did....

in third place, could someone please help me with my samples? im curious? do people just use them on the fly or do you take notes and/or build them into your sets before hand.

as an example: lets say im doing a set, i suddenly think "hey that sample would go great in there". now i know i cant just lob it in there when its mid set and its now like 10 seconds later when the sample would just cripple me.

so how do you guys do it? (no not IT just the samples lol)

also is there a good way to recheck my mixes? for instance i do a really good set on the fly with tracks ive never used and as per usual forget to record it. is there a good way to somehow take note of the timings, sample placings and effects entries?

thanks
john

for most of our samples we have them loaded and ready to go in sample bank, and of course it only takes a sec or two to load more while we're going with the set. i think it kinda works both ways on having them ready to go and on the fly.
and if you don't have it yet - the sampler manager plug-in helps as long as you're careful with it.
a dozen samples at the fingertips is nice, but i'm sure eventually we'll have a larger bank or a different plug-in for it.

thanks, i have lots of samples and have them loaded though what is the sample manager you speak of? can you give me a brief outline please?

jingle palette , if you can still find it........

30 samples per palette , unlimited palettes

very user friendly , standalone , built for radio stations

Tayla turned me on to this

thanks, ill have a look see!

how is it used? ive downloaded and installed it but where is it located?

Look at the picture,

First load all your samples, then go to your "SOUND Effects" tab and scroll down till you find the sample manager. Now look to the right it should say "CURRENT BANK" up top. Click on the "SAVE" button and it should now say "BANK 1". After youve done this a few times all you have to do is hit the arrows and find the bank you want to use. After youve found it just hit "LOAD" and now that bank will be in your sampler. If you ever want to make changes to a bank just hit "UPDATE" and whatever sounds youve added or deleted to that bank will be saved. Sorry about the pic being so small, lol!

If you have any questions feel free to hit me up. Also if you like the sample manager comment on this thread, http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/139933/Wishes_and_new_features/Sample_Manager_____________.html, if you agree.
