Hi,
Today I purchased the new DN-MC6000. I had it working for about half an hour however when I restarted the program it no longer worked. When the device is plugged in before VirtualDJ starts up, it crashes as the program is starting up. If it is plugged in whilst the program is running, VirtualDJ will crash instantly. I am running Windows 7 Professional x64 and have the latest version of VirtualDJ (7.0.2) & the latest Denon DN-MC6000 drivers (as came with the disc). I have a DN-HC4500 and a DN-HD2500 and they both still work fine on VirtualDJ.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Steve Smart

I have seen this before with other hardware devices. Launch VirtualDJ without the MC6000 connected. Go to config then mappers. Click the box beside the drop down menu and uncheck the "show only connected devices". Now in the drop down list locate the MC6000. In the list below it will show all mappings of the MC6000.

Check to see if something is mapped to "settings". If so delete this and shut VirtualDJ. Re-connect the controller and launch VirtualDJ.

If you have time I can remote in and take a look. Email me at Chris@virtualDJ.com and I will give you some instructions so that I can connect. First try the above mentioned steps.

Here is my verdict; installed the drivers and hook everything up. I load audio and video and it works fine. I do some scratching and it's good, then after about 20 to 30 minutes the MC6000 freezes; the lights remain frozen, the music continues to play. VDJ and my computer works but the device freezes; i have to turn it off and on again. It happened on 2 computers one is a i5 windows 7 32 bit 1gig vram, the other is i7 windows 7 64 bit 1gig of vram. I have no idea why the device is freezing (4 different occasions). I use the NS7 on both computers without problem (scratching all day). I am not usually a person to buy a device soon as it comes out but I took a chance on this one and lost. Now i'm a lab rat..lol. I hope VDJ mods can give me some ideas on how to fix it or maybe I have to call denon. All i know is that if I can't get it fixed soon then I'm taking it back.

Hi

Thanks for the fast response. I un-installed the drivers and re-installed them again, and after a few re-installs over the course of the evening it started to work again.
Thanks for your advice and I hope you manage to get your MC6000 working Splao because it's great bit of kit once it's set up & working!

Thanks again
Steve

You may need new update firmware for your MC6000 - Please contact Denon support for advice: http://www.denondj.com

NOTE: If you are using Windows Vista, unfortunately MIDI support in this Operating System has a bug which will cause the driver of a MIDI device to crash and stop responding if too many MIDI messages are transmitted in one go (E.g: Excessive scratching or spinning of the jogwheels.)

The best solution is to upgrade to Windows 7 which does not have this problem. Windows 7 will also give you considerably improved system performance over Vista, which is a very 'bloated' and resource-hungry Operating System.

I spoke to denon and they want a video of the issue sent to there techsupport@d-mpro.com email so if any of you guys want to up a video please send it to youtube and email it in. I am in the process of returning this bad boy, I am so dissappointed with it all the hopes and now its flopped. I hope this freezing issue can be resolved as I really really like this controller but will be watching as updates happen but I am too money strapped to consider waiting on a resolution. Once its been resolved I will consider it again but for now its back to Hercules.

Really?! I was planning to buy this controller sometime soon as an upgrade to my RMX. but, as you mentioned this unit will not work flawlessy with Windows Vista Operating System I'll change my mind and look for other controller that will satisfy me or wait patiently until the Denon provide a solution for Vista OS with this device.

You have it backwards, problem is with Vista with "all" high speed midi devices, MC6000 sends a high data rate for the jog wheels.

However, if you own Vista, the MC6000 has a preset adjustment to compensate and avoid these issues with Vista.

could you please tell me where the preset is so the denon works better with vista?

Instructions on how to do this can be found with the firmware update from Denon - To download the latest firmware, please go to http://www.denondj.com

I just bought the DN-MC 6000 controller. It was bundled with Virtual DJ LE. I installed it & it worked for about 15 minutes. Now when I open VDJ
it asks for a pin #. I never set up a Pin. I click cancel and it goes to program but now doesn't see the controller.
I clicked on advanced in setup which lets you try full Pro for 20 days. But that disappeared after 15 minutes. It now says i used up the 20 days. Which is nuts I only used it for 15 minutes. Any Ideas?

If you have been using VirtualDJ Home FREE or any other version of the software, then you have already been trialling it and the 20 day trial in LE is no-longer valid. Please see: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/My%20trial%20has%20expired%20early.html

Home FREE will let you try Pro features for 10 minutes at a time. You can restart it as many times as you like to get another 10 minutes: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/free.html

The serial number for LE can be found on the sleeve of the installation CD. Please register it on the page http://www.virtualdj.com/users/edit.html and download the latest version from http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html - Also, download the latest firmware and drivers for the MC6000 from Denon's website: http://www.denondj.com

LE can be used with its limited features with no time limit. You can upgrade to the full Pro at a considerable discount by going to: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html

LE is limited software. Please see: http://www.virtualdj.com/products/comparison.html

I have this same problem except there is no way to successfully launch the program. The only thing I have plugged in my computer is the charger which should actually increase my odds of getting the program to start. I do not believe that it's the hardware.
