I have an older Soundblaster mp3+ external soundcard

which has LINEIN and LINEPUT RCA inputs and MIC-IN and HEADPHONE OUT. I would like to be able to preview each deck via headphone, can anyone give me the configuration in SLOW motion please since I am not that technically sound? First tell me, do I have to install the software which comes with this soundcard? If so, afetr doing that what's my next steps please?
