depends on who puts the rest of the computer together

Ok...... Again. What processor is better with Virtual DJ, Intel or AMD ????

Either, it depends on the rest of the computer. You can have the biggest baddest CPU but with no memory or harddrive space it's a waste pretty much.
Look at the specs for VDJ and go from there. AMD & Intel are both good.

I've had both AMD and Intel, never had problems with either.
again as stated before depends on the rest of your build.
I have a Intel Centrino. Works great.
4 gigs Ram
windows vista 64
My laptop was put together by Gateway. Still happy with it after 2 years.
I only paid like $450 for it. :)

There are a few factors when buying a laptop for VDJ. You can go really right with both processors or you can go really wrong with both processors. I have an AMD Dual Core HP and an Intel I7 Lenovo.
Both processors run VDJ very well. Most any decent processor can run virtual DJ. The supporting hardware is what you need to be concerned about.
Make sure you get at least 4Gig of ram
****VIDEO CARD*****- very important for VDJ if you plan on running videos or any video effects & plug ins !! You want at least 512k dedicated memory on your graphics card. This means your graphics card should be ATI or NVidia. Take a look at what you are buying by checking the properties under My Computer.
Note: The best processor in the world will struggle if your RAM and Graphics card are weak.
Controllers like the NS7 & Mixdeck can cause PCs to work really hard so you want to make sure you have a PC that can run them efficiently. I upgraded from my HP DV7 which had 4g ram, ATI Graphics card with 386k dedicated memory and AMD Dual Core processor because it ran slow with certain videos and/or karaoke
My Lenovo Y560 is a pure beast !! i7 Processor, 1G dedicated graphics and 4GB RAM. The extra power on the graphics card actually eliminated the video loading problem when VDJ upgraded to v7.
All this to say, you can't really go wrong as long as the supporting hardware is strong
Hope this helps.

Which processor are you running though the I5 or I7.
My basic deal is this. I have been playing around at home for a while now and i want to start to get some upgraded equipment. I have been using an old computer that runs like crap and will not do. So i am looking for the upgrade. I dont need the perfect machine right now, but i do want a solid computer that can serve me now, and serve as a back up later.
This is what im thinking I5 processor 500mg hard drive, and 6g ram.
To much? To little?

For me Video cards are very important since I mix videos, so if you plan on doing videos I would suggest you get a gamers laptop.
There's plenty of gamers laptops out there with 1GB of DDR3 Memory, way more than the 256mb DDR3 VDJ recommends =)
Most of these gamer laptops come equipped with highend i7 intels or dual core CPUs.
Space of the hard drive is good for file storage, the higher the GB the more music you can fit.
Most of these gamers laptops also come with at least 4gb of DDR3 memory, remember the more memory the better your system will perform.
If you are not going to do videos than save you cash and just get a simple dual core AMD since they are a bit cheaper in price than the intels.
This is my laptop and I highly recommend it

before this laptop I had a gateway P-7805u, I also recommend that laptop to someone who is doing video.
Both of these laptops handled everything I threw at them.
Most importantly, no matter what laptop you get...keep it clean of viruses, malware, spyware, trojans....etc. If a system is infected, it will run slow no matter how good the specs are.

I have two laptops. One has an Intel the other AMD. Both HP both work great.BUT I have two Vestax VCM-100 .keeping one for backup. Come to find the vestax is not compatible with AMD. Static during playback. Works with the Intel laptop I tried every fix imaginable and then went to the Vestax forums and found other people who experience the same problems on other Vestax products. Anyone had or have this problem and if so how did you fix it? Thanks
