Topic: Migration from Windows to MacOS

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I have a database «VirtualDJ Local Database v6.xml» from my old Windows-laptop. Previously, clips were placed on his drive D:, the path — D:\Clips\..., now there are clips in /MacData/Clips/ ... . I tried to replace all occurrences of «D:» on «MacData» and all the slash «/» to «/» and place «VirtualDJ Local Database v6.xml» in the root of drive, named MacData. This allowed the VDJ find all my hot cues, but when adding of folders in the favorites, in the Favorites are 10 identical of folders instead of one, search in VDJ can not find a large number of files, etc. Check\Clean\Fix DB in Preferences\Browser did not help. Is there a way to painlessly move from Windows to MacOS, without losing the hot cues?

Converting the database between Windows and Mac does work, I have done it back and forth several times.

Just be careful with the file structure names and also ensure all the slashes are the correct way round.

The database XML has to be in the user>ducuments>virtualdj location on both PC and Mac or it will not work. Only external drive or partitioned databases should be in the root folder.
