I just finished watching "The Right Stuff" and, think I saw that unit mounted on the Gemini capsule control panel....

lmao!! Yeah it does look like some kind of control panel for the space shuttle but I really like it and what it can do.
Anyone eles care to chime in..............

Nice...but I think at over £1200 ($1900+), the price is a little steep....
Looks like it is exclusive to Jack Point...http://www.jackpoint.ch/dj/digital-dj/4midiloop.html

Would be nice if they also made a version without the cross/line-faders, which are useless to everyone with a real mixer.

Yeah it is quite spendy, lol!! I would love to get my hands on it and try it out. @ Arual this can be used as a mixer, there's a video of a guy with a turntable hooked up to a Audio 8 but he's using Traktor aswell. Its just like they said though have everything at your finger tips in 1 unit for all 4 decks!!! Name 1 or 2 controllers that can say that..................and the ones with a button to switch controls from "A/C and B/D" don't count either!! In my opinion this is 1 badass unit!!! Might have to sell something, lol, no im foreal!!
Sure would suck to map but once it was its on!!

Eerrr....that would be a no, you can't use it as a mixer (per se), since it's not a mixer - it's a controller. Sure, you can use it to control the internal software mixer, but that's still doesn't mean it's a mixer since it doesn't have any kind of inputs nor a audio interface. Moverover, like I already said, the whole point is that the faders are useless to someone who already has a mixer. Got it?

Huey, in this vein...4 deck controllers that I can think of are:
Stanton SCS.1M
DJTech Hybrid 101
A & H Xone:1D (ok you do need four of them and a mixer)
You could also add the A & H Xone:4D...but you did say no deck switchers (which ruled out the Mixmeister Controller and many others, including "supposed" 4 deck controllers, such as the 4MX).
I have to say, I'm seriously considering 4 x Allen & Heath Xone:1D's (yes I know you can just use one, but I want a controller for each deck...), but after using the Mixmeister Controller on Version 7 (4 deck) at some of my gigs, I'm not sure I can warrant the expense - if you ignore the fact the MmC does look a bit cheap.

I have Xone:1D and it works fine with VDJ. Currently I have only one and I just switch between 4 decks, but I admit it would be fun to have one for each deck :)
Then again, my MacBook Pro only has 2 USB-ports and the other one is than by my DN-X1600, so I'd need a hub...and probably a powered one, because the Xone:1D is USB-powered and I doubt one USB-port can power four devices without any glitches.
All in all the Xone:1D is a very solid piece of kit. It's not fancy, but it's built like a tank. Just make sure you have a new unit with the latest firmware. The older models have firmware-bug and it can be upgraded only by certified repair shop - in other words, not user upgradeable.
