Ever since I installed get.7 on my 2 systems, vdj doesn't't see the random video transition plunging. Upon starting vdj I get an error saying no video transition found. Verify that the video transitions are in .\plunging\video transitions. It's not in documents/virtual/plunging/video transitions as the message stated. I double clicked to install the plunging again, but still nothing. I did a search and found it in the video effect folder. I copied it and pasted where it should be. I can see it now in the folder, but upon restarting vdj , it still doesn't' see it. Is the random video transition plunging not comparable with vdj7?

I just tried on my Vista system, and you are right. However, I did not have this issue when I first installed 7. I wonder if a recent Vista update changed something. I will check my gig machine which is XP when I get home, but I think everything worked OK during my Halloween Party. Now that i think about it, I don't really look at the videos that much when I'm mixing.

The actual random transition plugin should be in the VideoEffect folder as that is what it is. I've just tested it on my machine here with VDJ7 and Windows 7 and it works fine.
The error you are seeing occurs when the random plugin can't see any transitions. The transitions themselves should all be in the VideoTransition folder - you might want to verify they are still there!
To summarise:
The VideoEffect folder should contain: RandomVideoTransition.dll
The VideoTransition folder should contain the transitions such as alpha.dll, cube.dll and so on.
Do you see any transitions listed when you click Transitions in VDJ?

I've just had a look at the source code for this plugin and can see a potential issue; I'll contact djcel and let him know.

Thanks SBDJ. Let me know what he says.

Just as I suspected, I do not have this issue on my gig machine, which is XP. As stated before, I did not have this issue when I first installed on my Vista machine. The transitions are in the transition folder, so do not understand what went wrong. Maybe I will re-install 7 to see what happens.

Random Video Transition shows up under video effects because it is an effect that randomly selects a transition ;)
