Topic: Sonique and Clipbank not working

So i just installed VDJ7 and for some reason i can't get sonique and clipbank to work. Other videos and effects work fine but these two act as if they are empty even though i downloaded and installed Clipbank 1.2 and the 72 Sonique visualizations in the Video Effects folder.

I have tried putting the unzipped contents of the Sonique folder directly in the Video Effects folder and in a separate folder named Sonique. Neither work. Not sure what exactly is supposed to happen when i run the Clipbank install but so far it hasnt done anything.

Im running a desktop with Windows XP, 1.86Ghz Core 2, 2gigs of Ram and an nVidia 8800GT.

remember to have your vids stored where they are accessable for clipbank as they need to be in the same location each time you open up VDJ

for soniques

Go into config > choose video tab > go down to the bottom right drop down window and select sonique, to the left make sure you tick the box, come out of config and select effects > select video tab > select sonique > select/click on activate > select open > this is where you go to where you have your sonique folder, now open the folder and double click on a file, this will now run your sonique effects. you can now play with the two sliders for the type of effect you want. slide show delay will give you how long each effect will run for and the transparency will let you fade the soniques over other effects like a video, show logo etc...

N.B If you have the time go through your individual soniques and delete the crappy ones, saves getting them up on the screen.

Dear All,

Can you please explain what software I need to buy and how to "conect" it with virtual VDJPro 7 to get the visualizations on an external screen/display?

Additionaly appreciate if you could also explain how to connect the Hercules RMX with a external display. Intention is to get the mentioned visualizations in an external screen/display while mixing.
Thanks in advance for your support here.

Cheers,

I have the exact same issue as the OP. I just removed Vista and put win 7 on my machine so was reinstalling everything and can't get the sonique working, I was running VDJ 6 but installed 7 now. When I go into effects > video > sonique > OPEN does nothing, no option to select a folder, the chain just goes dead. I had no such problems before, all my videos play fine. Would be very grateful if somebody could shed some light on this, I too have tried dropping the sonique folder into Video Effects, when that didn't work I dropped all the individual effects in, still no joy. Would really like this sorted by the weekend.

To those of you having problems with the Open button not working, I posted a workaround somewhere else a while back.

Edit your Sonique.ini file and edit the line:

String filename 4=

to point to somewhere:

String filename 4=c:\test.svp

The open button will now work again. The test.svp file doesn't actually have to exist btw.

This what Scott had me do and it fixed the Sonique for me, sorry I couldn't help with clipbank.

Let me know if that works
Huey
