Hello,
1) Please detail what you mean in "VDJ shuts down if my Steel is plugged in": when does it occur, how fast?
2) I have met an issue after installing VirtualDJ 7 on a Mac: the DJ Console Rmx didn't work any longer in VirtualDJ while it was perfectly working with VirtualDJ 6 the minute before installing VirtualDJ 7. So I have re-installed DJ Console Rmx drivers after installing VirtualDJ 7, and everything worked well again. As I had used a VDJ 7 beta version before installing VDJ 7 Pro release version, it may be linked by the beta version, but I suggest you install VDJ 7, and afterwards you re-install DJ Control Steel drivers.

Hi M.I.B.
If I have the controller pluged in, and I launch VDJ7, everything starts to open up like normal. But once the actual VDJ7 screen appears, it minimizes itself, and wont allow me to maximize it. If I open VDJ7 without the controller present, it acts normally. If I go to plug it in once it's open, it does the sane thing (minimizes).
I've reinstalled VDJ6, and the same thing happens. I've reinstalled the Herc drivers, and again, it happens. It just started all of a sudden, with no warning.

Hello,
1) Are you on Mac or in Windows (and which Mac or Windows version)?
2) Have you the same issue whatever the USB port & USB cable you use with the DJ Controller?
3) When you open DJ Control Steel control panel, is the controller properly detected or does it seem stuck?
4) Have you created in VirtualDJ a specific map for DJ Control Steel or changed the default map?

Could you also test the DJ Steel outside of VDJ , using the following procedure:

sorry...I'm on Windows XP
I havent tried a different cable, dont know if I have another one like the one that came with the controller. If i go in thru my usb hub it does it. If i plug the controller right into the laptop, it doesnt recognize it.
The controller is properly detected.
I created a specific map, but that was last year when i got the controller. I did notice a couple of settings changed when I upgraded to VDJ7 though

okay, so i re-installed the drivers for Herc again, still nothing. I installed the limited version of VDJ from the disc, and it worked, but the right pitch slider was unstable (kinda....shook alot) and would move whenevr I would move the cross fader. I reinstalled VDJ 5.2.1, and it worked, but with the same pitch slider issue...
