Topic: What is the best video format to use

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I am ken to start using videos but not sure what is the best format to use, vob, avi, mpg etc etc. My main priority is the sound quality, i want it to be as god as an mp3 ripped at 320. Any advice appreciated
