Try beat mixing from tape deck to tape deck. Kinda hard to do. Or if they request a song that happens to be at the end of a tape, but it has been rewound to the beginning, you politely tell them you need to FF the tape so will get to it as soon as possible. But the problem was that you needed a third tape deck to do the forwarding and rewinding."

Ha... you think thats old... when i started we had to wind the handles on two Gramaphone's to beat match The Charlstan and other "Flapper" classic hits!!!
...Those were the days... DJ Biggles the ScratchMaster and Ace Aviator "Deck-Dueling" with the German FlapperTechno Turntablist "The Red Barron" by using 2 Gramaphones and a WAX DISC machine Ala Carl Cox.... Whilst the crowd went wild, fuled by Absanth and Ether!!!

Well we had it tough. We used to have to get up out of the shoebox at twelve o'clock at night, and lick the road clean with our tongues. We had half a handful of freezing cold gravel, worked twenty-four hours a day at the mill for fourpence every six years, and when we got home, our Dad would slice us in two with a bread knife.

Why, when I was your age we had nothing, and we were thankful! My brother and I used to share a cup of cold air for breakfast. Diner was luke warm air...kids today have it easy....

what you said here chuck im using a midi mapper i got off this website (http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/8336/Hercules_Mapper_Pack.html)
would you recomend another one for more advanced stuff later on? or should i learn how to do it myself for best effects?

sorry for being so "noob" at this but then again i am :)
 
I've used a tonne of DJ software and nothing even comes close to VDJ (especially now that 7 is out!)

Don't listen to the haters. VDJ is my software, my community.
 
@ Nizmonk .....not sure if i know what you are asking , but what i did was i set up the source buttons to toggle deck 1 or 3

/ 2 or 4 so the RMX can control the 4 decks in the new 4 deck skin ...... then in advanced sound config 1 and 3 are on same

channel , and 2 and 4 on the other

on buttons 1 thru 6 i assigned mixer pannel , video pannel , browser , samples , effects

i have button 3 unassigned , and i am hoping when i get a chance soon to see if i can assign it to invoke

the "load on" menu ......

you can use any info from here or hercules web forum......

i am new at controllers myself ....

cioce and dj phatso are very expert at both VDJ and Hercules products ......

Apart from what has been discussed already VDJ can help you take your music to another level. I did a gig recently and decided to record it. I've got enough material to sell as a mixtape for my own event. Also Video mix DVD's are an option as well. Im also going to try out the rewire option to mix some beats i've made a bit like J Dilla Donuts.

Where im from most clubs and bars have their own setup...usually Pioneer CDJ's,so i dont have to bring my own equipment but like i said recently i did a gig in a bar and the setup was poor. it wasnt cdj's but i've used the same equipment from that bar a while back and now it wont cue etc luckily i brought my macbook and virtual dj so i was able to cue.

As for the haters....VDJ didnt win the WMC award for best toy lol

Ask any of those guys if serato if Kareoke ready? They say that because serato is popular at the big clubs, but I had used Serato before and the only thing they had better was the sound engine, which Virtual dj improved it in the new version 7. If like every dj wants to use a Mac computer when there are other good computers in the market. Virtual dj is a one the best software. I have the numark ns7 and I have never use the serato itch program because of the issues it have. If we all work together, and don't mind any bad comments, virtual dj will be the leading program soon!
 
at a minimum i would be very surprised if all the hardware makers aren't

thinking we are the guys to partner with
