Topic: Video Resolution - Aspect Ratio

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Depending on how an MPEG1 video file is encoded, some files encoded at the standard 352x240 size with 4:3 aspect ratio, occupies the entire screen when played from a DVD player which is great, but appears to have some border problems when played from the PC (vDJ).

There is some known fact that Windows Media player does not show videos in the right aspect ratios. I want to know if this is a function of DirectX DirectShow and if so, is vDJ subject to however DirectShow renders the picture ?

Anybody know ?
