Topic: Hercules RMX: Switching between laptops: Dell and MacBook Pro

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi: With a Hercules RMX: If it's already to set up to work with a Dell Laptop running Windows, will it still work ok if its later plugged into a Macbook Pro (after dowloading drivers and correctly configuring, of course)? Then if I wanted to plug the RMX back into the working Dell setup, would everything be the same as before? Or would I have to re-dowload/install the drivers for windows again? The again when moving back to Mac?

I'd like to be able to use a single RMX on both laptops (one as a back up to the other). Optimally, I'd like to just switch back and forth with minimal "resetting," if it's even required.

While I'm at it: Would my cues set up on the files of my Dell, appear on the MacBook once the files are transferred?

I'm a dunce when it comes to all this drivers and file transfer business. Any guidance would be great.

Thanks.

yeah it should, in the beginnign it will be saying something updating drivers, plug out and then plug back in and then everything should be fine.

i dont think ur cues r gonna stay if u transfer the files cuz the filepath is saved in ur library and it hasta be exact between the 2 libraries.

A little trick to make your life easier with USB devices on Windows-based computer: Install it on all your computer's USB port. It will take a bit of time initially, but that way you won't have any surprises (and save time) if something happen and you have to change port quickly during a show.

Run the installation package once for the initial installation. Then , upon connecting the Rmx to the next USB port, WIndows will indicate that it has detected a new device and should install the driver automatically for Windows 7 and Vista. Repeat for all USB ports.

This is not relevante to MAC.

Once this is done, you can use the Rmx on either computer without problem.
